Welcome to Church
Love God & Love People
Several years ago our Pastor, Brandon Matheson did some research on Towns and Union Counties in North, GA and Clay and Cherokee Counties in Western, NC. In his research he found that in those four counties there were approx. 70,000 residents and over 20,000 households. There were 164 churches in these particular counties as well. These churches represented all faiths, denominations and doctrinal beliefs. Yet despite all of these churches Brandon discovered very little of the 70,000 person population attended church and even fewer knew Christ as their Savior. In fact, he discovered between 50,000-60,000 people in our
little pocket of the world did not have a church home. This consumed Brandon’s thinking and his heart. “50K” became his battle cry. Somebody needed to begin reaching out to these 50,000+ people who for whatever reason didn’t attend church. 50K is the simple answer to “why start another church?” Catalyst Church began in the heart of our Pastor during his research and began to come to fruition in mid-August 2011 when along with his family and seven other people “Catalyst Church” began. From August thru October so much work took place; a building was leased and completely remodeled. These were simple yet exciting times for Catalyst.
